appointed by Treas. Warrant of 16 Nov. 1676 (Ibid, V, pt, 1, 373); murdered
by Col. George Talbot, President of the Board of Deputy Governors, 31 Oct.
1684 (AM, XVII, 293-300).

3. *Maj. Nicholas Sewall (Cath.), and *Col. William Digges (Prot., wife
Cath.), both of St. Mary's County, His Lordship's Naval Officers, ordered by

the Board of execute Rousby's office for time being, 3 Dec. 1684 (AM, XVII,
327, 455); ordered to cease acting by Customs Commissioners, 10 Aug. 1685
Cal. of State Papers, Col., 1685-88, art. 312).

4. Col. Nehemiah Blakiston of St. Mary's County (Prot., wife Cath.),

by Treas. Warrant of 19 March 1684/5 (Cal. of Treas. Bks. VIII, pt. 1, 65).
Resigned after appointed Collector of North Potomac.
