orable Body, to appoint a joint committee to wait upon his
Excellency, the Governor, and inform him that the two Houses
are organized, and ready to receive any communication he
may be pleased to make; and have appointed Messrs. Miller,
Freaner, Krafft, as said committee, on the part of this House.

Which was read and sent to the Senate.
Mr. Compton offered the following order :

Ordered, That with a view to a more equitable distribu-
tion of scats in this House, that we now proceed to designate
the same by lot, which shall be drawn by counties.

Which was lost.

Mr. Briscoe offered the following, which was adopted :

Resolved, That the thanks of this House, are hereby tender-
ed to G. W. Goldsborough, for the able and impartial
manner, in which he performed the duties of chairman, dur-
ing the organization of this body.

Mr. Mackubin offered the following order:

Ordered, That a committee of two be appointed to wait
upon the Clergy of the city of Annapolis, and invite them to
attend, alternately, to open the daily sessions of this body
with prayer.

Which was adopted.

And Messrs. Mackubin and Nelson were appointed.

Mr. Morgan offered the following order :

Ordered, That the Speaker cause the door-keeper to furnish
desks and places on the floor of the House, for the Reporters
of the "Sun," "American," "Republican" and "Clipper"
newspapers.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Goldsborough offered the following order:

Ordered, That the State Librarian be authorized to procure
a sufficient number of copies of the State Constitution, with
marginal notes, for the use of the members of this House.

Which was adopted.
