So the House refused to adjourn.
Mr. Ford proposed the following amendment:
"Be it enacted. That the Baltimore City Railroad be and
it is hereby compelled to buy out that part of the Hookstown
road now occupied by their rails, and to open the same free
of toll; and the Hookstown road company is hereby compelled
to sell out said road, the price to be settled by commissioners
appointed, one by each county, with power to select a third,
and the award of a majority of whom shall be final;"
