Ordered, That a committee of three be appointed by the
House to take into consideration the adopting of the 29th rule
of the Senate, as a rule of this House and report thereon ;
Which was adopted, and Messrs. Miller, Briscoe and Hard-
ing appointed said committee.
Mr. Parran submitted the following resolution :
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, that the
Adjutant General be, and be is hereby requested to furnish
to Capt. John Bond of the Port Republic Rangers, sixty
Minnie Rifles, with the necessary accoutrements from the
quota due the State from the General Government, for the
year 1859, upon his giving security for their safe keeping and
return when required by the State;

Mr. Krafft, from a select committee, reported favorably on
the bill entitled, an act to regulate the payment of the fees of
the Crier of the Superior Court, the Crier of the Court of Com-
mon Pleas, and the Crier of the Criminal Court for Baltimore
city;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Mills, from the select committee, reported the bill enti-
tled, an act, to incorporate the town of Uniontown, in Carroll
county, Maryland;
Which was read the first time and referred to the com-
mittee on Corporations.
Mr. Morgan offered the following :
Ordered, That it be noted on the Journal, that the absence
of Messrs. Goldsborough, Maxwell and Denison, of Baltimore
city, is owing to their absence in the committee to the Mary-
land Penitentiary.

Mr. Naill presented the following :
To the Honorable, the General Assembly of Maryland:
The undersigned begs leave to represent to your honorable
body, that the Constitution of Maryland, by the seventeenth
section of its third article, commanded that the laws of the
State should be codified; and, also, that law proceedings and
conveyancing should be simplified, and that two distinct sets
of Commissioners should be appointed by the Legislature to
