The vote by which the bill was rejected, was reconsidered,
and the bill laid over informally.
On motion of Mr. Freaner,
The rules were suspended, and leave was granted Messrs.
Freaner, Morgan and Salmon, to introduce a bill to require
the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad company, to comply with
the conditions of the act of 1840, chapter 260, relating to the
construction of a branch or lateral road from some convenient
point of the main stem of said railroad, up the Antietam
Valley to Hagerstown.
The bill entitled, an act to amend the 4th article of public
local laws, by adding thereto the following sections, prescrib-
ing the manner of collecting and disposing of the costs taxa-
ble in the Criminal court of Baltimore city, and of paying
the salaries of the various officers of said court;
Was read the second time, and by special order the third
time, and rejected by yeas and nays as follow:
