Mr. Jones, of Talbot, reported favorably on the bill enti-
tled an act, to authorise Edward Tenant and Morris O. Col-
ston to keep a gate on a public road in Talbot county;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Ford made the following report:
The undersigned, members of the Baltimore county dele-
gation, to whom was referred the petition of John Morrow
and others, citizens of the 2d, 3d, and 4th election districts
of said county, praying the passage of a bill to prohibit
swine from running at large in said districts, beg leave to
report, that they have had the said petition under considera-
tion, and have come to the conclusion that the prayer of the
petitioners ought not to be granted; and ask to be discharged
from the further consideration of the subject.

The rules were suspended to enable him to report favorably
on the Senate bill entitled, an act to amend the 3d article of
the public local laws, by adding a section authorising the sale
or lease of a portion of the alms-house property belonging to
Baltimore county;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Griffith, from a special committee, reported favorably
on the Senate bill entitled, an act to increase the compensa-
tion of the judges of the Orphans' court of Montgomery
county;
Also, on the bill entitled, an act for the relief of the trus-
tees of the securities of Silas Browning, late sheriff of Mont-
gomery county;
Which were severally read the first time.
The bill entitled, an act to amend the 18th article of the
code of public general laws, by adding thereto certain sec-
tions giving to the clerks of the Circuit court and the Su-
perior court of Baltimore city, and Court of Common Pleas,
the power to take superseadeas of judgments, and decrees
rendered in said courts:
