stance has such testimony been contradicted, or the character
of the witnesses giving the same, impeached. Your commit-
tee, for the reasons above set forth, recommend the adoption
of the following address to the Governor of Maryland, and
also the following resolution :

To His Excellency, Thomas H. Hicks,

Governor of the State of Maryland:

The two Houses of the General Assembly of the State of
Maryland, two-thirds of the members of each House concur-
ring therein, respectfully request that your Excellency will be
pleased to remove Henry Stump from the office of judge of the
Criminal court of Baltimore city.

Be it resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
a committee of five be appointed on the part of this House to
act in conjunction with a committee of three on the part of
the Senate, to wait on the Governor of this State and pre-
sent the above address.

Mr. Morgan, acting chairman of the committee on Elec-
tions, made the following

REPORT:

The undersigned, committee on Elections, beg leave to re-
port that they have examined the returns of the judges of
elections of the several counties and the city of Baltimore,
and find the following persons duly elected as members of
the House of Delegates for the Constitutional term of two
years, commencing on the 2nd day of November, 1859, to
wit:

St. Mary's county—C. J. Durant and George H. Morgan,
Esqrs.
Kent county—Albert Medders and Philip F. Rasin, Esqrs.

Anne Arundel county—E. G. Kilbourn, Richard C. Mac-
kubin and B. Allein Welch. Esqrs.

Calvert county—James T. Briscoe and Benjamin Parran,
Esqrs.

Charles county—Francis B. F. Burgess and Barnes Comp-
ton, Esqrs.
