reported favorably on the bill entitled, a supplement to the
act of 1816, chapter 251, incorporating the Gas Light Com-
pany of Baltimore;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Dennis, of Somerset county, from the select committee,
reported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to authorise the
commissioners appointed by the act of 1858, chapter 107, to
sell a part of the almshouse farm in Somerset county ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Dennis, of Somerset county, from the select committee,
reported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to pay William
P. G. Polk, and H. H. Dashiell, assignees of E. J. Wamu-
right, a sum of money;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the com-
mittee on Claims.

On motion of Mr. Legg,

The rules were suspended, to allow him to offer the follow-
ing:

Ordered, That the House of Delegates accept the invitation
of the ladies of Baltimore, to attend the lecture of the Hon.
T. H. Nelson, at the Maryland Institute, on Monday night
next;

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Turner, of Howard county,

The rules were suspended, to allow him to offer the follow-
ing:

Ordered, That the Treasurer inform this House, what
stocks of this State are now redeemable (and when such be-
came so) and have not been redeemed; what amount of each
is in sinking fund—if preference has been given to any holder
of said stock and why ? and why said stocks have not been
fully redeemed ? and that he also inform this House, when
and why he purchased city of Baltimore stock, and York and
Cumberland Railroad bonds for the sinking fund, and at
what prices ? and whether these were intended as permanent
investments ?

Which was adopted.

The bill entitled, an act to authorise the clerk of the Cir-
cuit court for Carroll county, to record a deed from Lydia
Mitten to Jesse Lambert, and to validate the same;

Was read the second time.
