444            JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 16,

Mr. Eakle proposed the following amendment:

At the end of first section insert the following: "And pro-
vided further, that the defendant shall be a bona ride resident
of the State of Maryland;"

Which was concurred in.

Mr. Barnard proposed the following amendment:

Add to the end of the 5th section, "nor the right of dis-
tress of a landlord to levy upon all the property of a tenant;"

Which was concurred in.

Mr. Landing proposed the following amendment:

An additional section—section 7:

"Be it enacted, That Worcester county be and the same
is hereby exempted from the provisions of this act;"

Which was concurred in.

Mr. Beall moved to reconsider the vote just taken, by which
the amendment of Mr. Landing was adopted:
