The said bill was then sent to the Senate.

Mr. Morgan, chairman of the joint committee on State
Tobacco Warehouses, reported favorably on the bill entitled,
an act for the relief of J. W. Blackburn, J. E. Huntt, John
M. Frazier, William Bigham, Samuel T. Adams and others,
for services rendered as clerks in the Tobacco Warehouses in
the city of Baltimore;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Miller, from a special committee, reported favorably
on the bill entitled, an act to authorise Dr. John Gilpin, of
Cecil county, to close a public road in said county;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to amend the 66th section
of the 8th article of the code of public local laws relating to
the town of Elkton, by changing the day for appointing the
judge of election for town commissioners;

Which were severally read the first time.

On motion of Mr. Long,

The House took up for consideration the bill entitled, an
act to amend the 82d article of the code of public general
laws, by exempting a certain amount of property from exe-
cution;

The question being upon the amendment proposed by Mr.
Landing:

Strike out the words "three hundred,"' and insert "one
hundred and fifty;"

On motion of Mr. Landing,
The yeas and nays were ordered, and appeared as follow:
