The said bill was then sent to the Senate.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following:

A bill entitled, an act to make valid a deed from Thomas
James Redditt to James Redditt;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the com-
mittee on the Judiciary.

Mr. Ford, from a select committee, reported favorably on
the bill entitled, an act to prevent the employment of certain
attornyes as counsel for defence in criminal cases;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the com-
mittee on the Judiciary.

Mr. Kessler, from a select committee, reported favorably on
the bill entitled, an act adding a small portion of Frederick
and Buckeystown election districts of Frederick county, to
Jefferson district of said county;

Which was read the first time.
On motion of Mr. Beall,

The rules were suspended, and the House took up for con-
sideration the bill entitled, an act to establish a uniform system
of public schools in Allegany county, and to repeal the 147th,
148th, 149th, 150th. 151st, 152d, 153d, 154th, 155th, 156th,
157th, 158th, 159th, 160th, 161st, 162d, 163d, 164th, 165th,
166th, 167th, 168th and 169th sections of article first of the
code of public local laws, relating to Allegany county;

Said being upon its second reading;
On motion of Mr. Briscoe,

The further consideration of said bill, was postponed until
this evening's session.

Mr. Ford reported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to
amend the 18th section, relating to schools, of article 3 of the
code of public local laws;

On motion of Mr. Ford.

The rules were suspended, and the said bill ordered to a
second reading;

Mr. Ford proposed the following amendment:
Strike out the first section.
