384          JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 11,

on the bill entitled, an act to amend the code of public gene-
ral laws, article 95, relating to weights and measures, by
repealing the 78th section of said article, and substituting the
following in lieu thereof;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Chaplain, from a select committee, reported favorably
on the bill entitled, an act for the relief of the sureties on
the bond of John D. Nabb, former State tax collector of Tal-
bot county;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Seth, from the committee on Oysters and Fish, reported
a bill entitled, an act to amend the first section, relating to
the taking of oysters, of article 70 of the code of public gene-
ral laws;

Also, a bill entitled, an act to add the following sections,
relating to licenses, to article 55 of the code of public gene-
ral laws;

Also, a bill entitled, an act to add the following sections
relating to the Comptroller, to article 22 of the code of pub-
lic general laws;

Also, a bill entitled, an act making appropriation for
building a steamer to prevent violations of the oyster and fish
laws;

Which were severally read the first time, and,

On motion of Mr. Lawson,
Were recommitted to the committee on Oysters and Fish.

The bill entitled, an act to refund to Asabel Willison, late
collector of taxes of Allegany county, money overpaid by him
into the State Treasury;

Was read the second time, and by special order a third
time, and passed by yeas and nays as follow:
