lowing sections relating to a tax on plaintiffs;
Which was read the first time.

Mr. Johnson, from the committee on Inspections, reported
favorably on the bill entitled, an act to prohibit the sale of
printing, writing or wrapping paper, in less quantities than
a ream or section of a ream, within the State of Maryland;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Goldsborough, from the committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate
the Parsonage House of the German Reformed Church in
Emmittsburg;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate the West-
ernport Academy, in Allegany county;

Also, on the bill entitled, a supplement to an act entitled,
an act to authorise the consolidation of the Baltimore
and Susquehanna Railroad company with the York and
Maryland Line Railroad company, the York and Cum-
berland Railroad company, and the Susquehanna Rail-
road company, under the name of the Northern Central Rail-
way company, passed at January session, 1854, chapter 25;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Bal-
timore and Towsontown Railroad company;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Man-
chester Young Men's Literary Association;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Balti-
more and Little Gunpowder Falls Turnpike company;

Also, on Senate bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Egen-
ton Orphan Asylum of Baltimore;

Also, on Senate bill entitled, an act to renew and continue
in force an act entitled, an act to incorporate the Maryland
and Virginia Steam Packet company, passed December ses-
sion, 1847, chapter 112;

Which were severally read the first time.

Mr. Goldsborough, from a special committee, reported fa-
vorably on Senate bill entitled, an act to allow Robert Pip-
pin, late collector of State and county taxes for Caroline
county, further time to complete his collections, and to give
him full authority to do so;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Gordon, from the committee on Corporations, reported
