Mr. Beall, made a favorable report on the Senate bill enti-
tled, an act to authorise the county commissioners of Allegany
county, to levy for the use of Elizabeth A. Watson, as the
heir of John Davis, deceased, taxes overpaid ;
Which was read the first time.

Mr. Morgan, from the select committee, reported favor-
ably on the bill entitled, an act to direct the Adjutant
General to purchase arms and accoutrements for the Riley
rifle company of St. Mary's county, and to appropriate a sum
of money therefor ;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the com-
mittee on the Militia.

Mr. Salmon, from the select committee, reported favorably
on the bill entitled, an act to authorise, the county commission-
ers of Frederick county, to subscribe for shares of stock to the
Frederick and Emmittsburg turnpike road company :
Which was read the first time.

Mr. Gordon, from the committee on the Judiciary, made an
unfavorable report on the bill entitled, an act authorising the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, to license carts and
other vehicles, to use the streets of Baltimore ;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to amend the first section
of the 87th article, of the code of general laws ;
Which were severally adopted.

Also, the bill entitled, an act to regulate and provide for
the payments of the fees of the crier of the Superior court of
Baltimore city; the crier of the court of Common Pleas for
Baltimore city; and the crier of the Criminal court of Balti-
more:

Which was recommitted to the committee on the Judiciary.

Also, the bill entitled, an act to authorise and facilitate the
the erection of mills in Somerset county;
