gration and naturalization laws;

On motion of Mr. Frazier,                                 

The rules were suspended to allow him to offer the following
order:

Ordered, that the Chief Clerk of this House be authorized to
appoint some suitable person to take care of this Hall and Com-
mittee Rooms during the recess of the Legislature, whose salary
shall not exceed fifty dollars per year;

Which was adopted.                                                       

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bill,

Entitled, an act to appoint an additional magistrate in election
district No. 2, in Talbot county;

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays" with proposed amend-
ment:

AMENDMENT Proposed.

"Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That at the next general election
the voters of said district shall be entitled to elect three justices
of the peace for said district, any thing in any other act to the
contrary notwithstanding;"
