The said bill was then returned to the Senate.                     

The House took up for consideration,                

The bill entitled, an act to limit the places for retailing certain
articles in the city of Baltimore;

Mr. Dorsey offered the following amendment to the first section,
thereof;                                          

"Provided, however, that nothing in this act shall be construed
to prevent farmers from selling their own produce or meat in the
streets of Baltimore,"                                                 

Which was assented to.                                                       

Mr. Askew offered the following as an additional section:

"Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall go into effect
from and after the date of its passage, provided the same be ap-
proved by the Mayor and City Council of the city of Baltimore;"

Which was assented to.

The said bill was then read the second time, and

Three-fourths of the members concurring, was read the third
time and passed by yeas and nays as follows:
