800              JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 8,

appoint a joint committee of three from each House, to visit and in-
spect the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, for the purpose of inquiring
into its condition, its management, its resources, and all other mat-
ters of moment connected with it, with reference to the State mak-
ing such disposition of its interest in it as may be deemed fit, and
to report to the next General Assembly.

We have appointed Messrs. Hoffman, Davis and Sothoron on
the part of the Senate, to unite with such gentlemen as may be
appointed by your honorable body.

The bill entitled, an act to allow George W. Hall to remove
a slave for a term of years, from this State;
