Mr. Griffith, from a select committee, reported favorably on a
Senate bill entitled, an act to empower collectors of taxes in

Kent county to collect officers fees;                                         

                                                                                            

Which was read the first time.

A bill entitled, an act to sell the State's unpreferred stock in
the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad,                                     

Was taken up, and                                      

On motion of Mr. Hall,                            

The enacting clause was stricken out.                             

On motion of Mr. Dowell,  

The House took a recess until 8 o'clock, P. M.     

SATURDAY, March 8th, 1856,

8 o'clock, P. M.

The House met. Present at the call of the roll the following
members:

Messrs. Speaker, Wilson, of Calvert, Chilcoat, Rankin,
Wright, Roberts, Howie, Bowling, Goldsborough, Rolph, Tim-
mons, Smith, of Worcester. Brengle, Carper, Grove, Wolfe, Sil-
ver, Whitby, Fiery, Reichard. Loughridge, Corby, Tower,
Dowell, Stone, Wickes, Brown, Buffington and Rowles.

There not being a quorum,                               

On motion of Mr. Goldsborough,                 

The House was called, and the following members were pres-
