On motion or Mr. Travers,
The rules were suspended to allow him to offer the following
order:

Ordered, That a consideration of local or private bills be con-
tinued, if required, from 10 to 12 o'clock on Monday, and that
thereafter two hours from 10 to 12 o'clock, be devoted, if required,
exclusively to the consideration of Senate bills entitled to second
and third readings;
Which was adopted.                       

Mr. Kildow reported a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the
town of Westernport in Allegany county;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Griffith from the select committee reported favorably on a
bill entitled, an act to authorize and require the County Commis-
sioners for Kent and Queen Anne's counties to levy on their re-
spective counties a sum of money to erect a free, bridge over
Chester river at a point called Crompton Ferry.

Mr. Stone from the select committee reported favorably on a
bill entitled, an act amendatory of an act passed January session
1854, chapter 172, entitled, an act to regulate fisheries in the wa-
ters of the Potomac river within the jurisdiction of Maryland
and to protect the breed of fish therein;

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the White Hall, Jarretts-
ville and La Grange Turnpike Company.

Was read the second time,                 

Three fourths of the members concurring, the said bill was
read the third time and rejected for want of a constitutional ma-
jority, by yeas and nays follows:
