Amendment assented to.
Mr. Merrick offered the following amendment:             

In 14th line of section 4, after the words "to be done" insert
"and it it shall appear that the rate of rent or annual value of said
house or place does or shall not exceed one hundred dollars, then
it shall be the duly of said clerk before granting said license to
demand and receive, therefor the sum of twenty five dollars."
