266            JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS              [Feb. 9,

Mr. Kildow from the select committee, reported a bill entitled,
an act to make valid a deed from the Llangollen Mining com-
pany to Patrick McGuire;                  

Which was read.                       

On motion of Mr. Goldsborough,
The rules were suspended to take up the bill entitled, an act

to authorise the Comptroller to appoint his chief clerk Comptroller
pro tem, and to make his bond, responsible for the acts of said

clerk, done by virtue of such appointment.

On motion of Mr. Daniel,                           

The said bill was recommitted to the committee on Judi-

ciary.

On motion of Mr. Lester,

The rules were suspended to dispense with the reading of the
bills entitled to a second reading, and to proceed with the bills
for a third reading.                                             

A bill entitled, an act relating to the grading and paving of
North Avenue, in the city of Baltimore, supplementary to an act
entitled, an act to vest certain powers in the corporation of the
city of Baltimore, in relation to streets, passed on the 23d of March,

1839;             

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as fol-


lows:
