fect order and repair as aforesaid; and, if the same shall not be
put in good and perfect order and repair, before the next circuit
court for the said county, the aforesaid justice shall certify and
and send a copy of the inquisition aforesaid to the Circuit Judge
for said county, who shall thereupon cause to be brought before
him the body or. bodies of the person or persons entrusted by said
Company with the care and superintendence of such part of the
said road as shall be found detective, and if the said person or
persons entrusted by the Company aforesaid, shall be convicted
of the offence by the said inquisition charged, the said court
shall fine the said person or persons, according to the nature
and aggravation of the neglect, in his discretion, not exceeding
one hundred dollars, for every week such place shall have been
out of order and repair; and in case the said Company should
neglect to have the said place repaired within fifteen days after
the aforesaid fine shall have been laid, then the said court shall
proceed to fine the said President and Directors, in its discretion,
not exceeding two hundred dollars, for the use of the county un-
der the direction of the Commissioners of said county.           

"Change the numbers of the remaining sections of the bill to 15,

16,17,18,19."                               

On motion of Mr. Rankin,                 

The further consideration of the bill was postponed to Tuesday
next.

Also, returned a bill entitled, an act to pay Henry M. Murray
for services rendered the State in the case of McPherson Lyles;
Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays."

A bill entitled, an act requiring State's Attorneys for the sev-
eral counties and the city of Baltimore to give bond for the pay-
ment into the State Treasury of all moneys due the State and re-
ceived by them and to make their receipts valid for the sums re-
ceived by them;                           

Was read the second time.

A bill entitled, an act for the more speedy and convenient ad-
justment and collection of debts due the State;

Was read the second time.

A bill entitled, an act to authorise certain Trustees, or their
successors, or the survivors of them, to sell and convey the Par-
sonage House and lot of the Methodist Episcopal Church in the
Greensborough Circuit, and to purchase another Parsonage House
and lot with the proceeds of said sale;

Was read the second time.                                           

A bill entitled, an act to give the Justices of the Peace of Wor-
cester county jurisdiction in all cases of assault and battery here-
