Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal, that had Messrs.
Wickes and Plowden been in their seats, they would have voted
in the affirmative on the above order.

On motion of Mr. Hall,                                             

Leave was granted to Messrs. Hall, Brengle and Smith, of Car-
roll, to bring in a bill to amend the act of December Session
1834, prescribing the time at which the several Banks of this State
shall make their reports.

On motion of Mr. Brengle,                                               

Leave was granted to the Committee on Roads and Highways
to bring in a bill granting the county commissioners of the several
counties of this State the exclusive power to open, alter and close
roads in their respective counties.

The House proceeded to the consideration of the order of the
day.                                                                                 

An act to simplify and abridge the rules and forms of convey-
ances;
