A bill entitled, an act for the protection of sheep by taxing
does in Cecil county.
Mr. Stubbs submitted the following amendment:
Insert after the word "collected" in the 10th line, section 1,
"from the owners or owner of said dog or dogs,"
Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Hall,
The 8th section was stricken out.
Said bill was then read the second time.
A bill entitled an act to prohibit the Clerks of the several Cir-
cuit Courts of the counties of this State and Superior Court of
the city of Baltimore, from issuing licenses to join in marriage
males under the age of twenty-one years, and females under the
age of sixteen years, without the consent of the parent or guar-
dian of such persons.
Mr. Lester offered the following additional section, which was
adopted:
Section 2. And be it enacted, That so much of the act of
seventeen hundred and seventy-seven, chapter twelve, section
nine, which inflicts the forfeiture of five hundred pounds upon a
minister for joining in marriage, persons embraced in the fore-
going section, and all other acts or parts of acts inconsistent here-
with, be and the same are hereby repealed.
