favoring "City Extension" shall be designated by the Mayor
of Baltimore city.
'And said election shall be subject in all respects to the
provisions and limitations of the election laws of the State
of Maryland regulating the election of candidates on the gen-
eral tickets at the general elections held in Baltimore county
and shall also be subject to all the provisions of the Corrupt
Practices Act relating to such elections.
'That the necessary expenses of the election provided for by
this Act shall be paid by the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore, and the judges, clerks and the sheriff of Baltimore
county shall receive compensation fixed by law in reference
to general elections. '"
"Add an additional section to be numbered 20 and to read
as follows:
'Section 20. And be it further enacted, That the question
whether that portion of the territory described in Section 1
of this Act, which is embraced within the boundaries of Anne
Arundel county, shall be annexed to the City of Baltimore shall
be submitted to the qualified voters of Anne Arundel county
residing in said territory at a special election to be held on
the second Tuesday in July, 1916, for which election there
shall be one polling place in each one of the existing election
precincts of Anne Arundel county, embracing any part of
the territory described in the first section of this Act, and
all persons entitled to vote at said election shall vote in the
polling place within the election precinct in which they are
or shall be registered; the Board of Supervisors of Elections
for Anne Arundel county shall, at least twenty days before the
day of election, designate the location of said polling places,
which shall not be in any house where spirituous or fer-
mented liquors or lager beer are sold, and said Board shall
also appoint two judges and two clerks of election for each
polling place, who shall be residents of and voters within
that portion of the territory described in the first section of
this Act, which is embraced within the boundaries of Anne
Arundel county; one of which said judges and one of the
said clerks shall be persons known to be in favor of city
extension and one of which judges and the other of said clerks
shall be persons known to be against city extension; the polls
at said election shall be kept open from 6 o'clock in the morn-
ing until 7 o'clock in the evening; the ballots to be cast at
said election shall have written or printed on them "For the
City Extension" and "Against the City Extension. " At the
