Election Laws of this State existing at the time of holding
of said election, except as otherwise provided by this Act.

'Section 7. And be it further enacted, That the Board of
Supervisors of Election for Wicomico county in preparing
the official ballot to be used at the said general election here-
inbefore mentioned in this Act, shall have printed on said
official ballot in a separate column the title of this Act and
underneath of same the words "For Public Improvement Bonds
of Wicomico county, " and "Against Public Improvement Bonds
of Wicomico County, " in order to ascertain the vote of this
question., A square shall be opposite the words "For Public
Improvement Bonds of Wicomico County" on said ballot, and
opposite the words "Against Public Improvement Bonds of
Wicomico County" on said ballot and every ballot voted on
which the cross-mark (X) shall be placed in the square oppo-
site the words "For Public Improvement Bonds of Wicomico
County" by the voter, shall be counted as a vote in the affirma-
tive, and every ballot voted on which the cross-mark (X)
shall be placed in the square opposite the words "Against
Public Improvement Bonds of Wicomico County" by the
voter, shall be counted as a vote in the negative; but no ballot
shall be counted as a vote upon the question unless a cross-
mark (X) shall be placed opposite one of said phrases. The
manner of canvassing the ballots and making returns thereof
shall conform to the requirements of the General Election
Laws of the State, except the certificate of the Supervisors of
Election of said county shall be as follows: We hereby certify
that at the election held in Wicomico county on the seventh
day of November, 1916, ————votes were cast "For Public Im-
provement Bonds of Wicomico County, " and————votes were
cast "Against Public Improvement Bonds of Wicomico
County, " and said certificate of election shall be returned to
the County Commissioners for Wicomico county, and upon
receipt of said certificate of election aforesaid it shall be the
duty of the said County Commissioners, if it shall appear that
a majority of the votes cast were "For Public Improvement
Bonds of Wicomico County, " to issue said bonds as provided
for under the provisions of this Act. '" [ Which was read and

No. 3—"Strike out the word 'special, ' after the word 'said, '

in line 1 of Section 8, on page 6 of said printed Bill, and
insert in lieu thereof the word 'general. '" [Which was read
