after the word 'any' and preceding the word 'company, ' insert
the word 'such. ' "
No. 4—"Strike out all of lines 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 of
Section 164 D of the printed Bill, being all the sentence be-
ginning with the words 'the Insurance Commissioner' to the
end of the section. "
No. 5—"Add a new section immediately following Section
164-D, to be known as Section 2, and to read as follows:
Section 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from and after the first day of June, 1916. '"

SUBJECT: INSURANCE COMPANIES.
Amendments proposed by Committee:
No. 1—"Line 33 of Section 184 of the printed Bill, strike
out the bracket preceding the word 'and, ' "
No. 2—"Line 35 of Section 184 of the printed Bill, strike
out the bracket following the word 'Territory. ' "
No. 3—"Strike out the following words beginning on line
17 of Section 184-B of the printed Bill: 'Is indebted to any
insurance company or general agent by virtue of any contract
as former agent or broker, ' and insert in lieu thereof the
following: 'has misappropriated or withheld from any in-
surance company or general agent money received or collected
by him for said company or general agent under any former
employment as agent, broker or solicitor. ' "
No. 4—"Line 35 of Section 184-B of the printed Bill, after
the word 'State, ' strike out the balance of said section, to
wit, the words: 'or that he is not a person of good moral
character. ' "
No. 5—"Line'36 of Section 184-B of the printed Bill, add the
following sentence at the end of said section, to follow im-
mediately after the word 'State, ' to wit: 'Provided that any
person deeming himself aggrieved by any such refusal by the
Insurance Commissioner to grant any such license as afore-
said, shall have the right to appeal to the Superior Court of
Baltimore city for a writ of mandamus to compel the issuance
of such license in any proper case where the same has been
wrongfully and improperly withheld. ' "
