I read with interest and amusement a publication in the
Baltimore American of the date of March 15, entitled "State's
First Oyster Culture—'Daddy Dare' Experiment Shows Big
Return. "

Do not be impressed too strongly to accept the above state-
ment "that the growth and size of the oysters thereon is due
entirely to the planting of oysters on this bottom, " but consider
the fact that the bottom in question is one of the best natural
