Amendments proposed by Committee:

"Immediately following the word 'tax, ' in the title, add the
following: 'and to increase minimum salaries, ' "

"After Section 1 of the printed Bill add a new section to
read as follows:

'Section 2. Be it further enacted, That the Board of School
Commissioners of Garrett county shall pay the school teachers
of said county the sums of two hundred and fifty dollars
($250) and three hundred dollars ($300) as minimum sal-
aries, instead of two hundred dollars ($200) and two hundred
and fifty dollars ($250), as at present, and Garrett county
shall be exempt for a period of two years from the provisions
of Section 60 of Article 77 of the Code of Public General
Laws of Maryland. ' "

"In Section 2, line 1, of the printed Bill, strike out the
. numeral '2' and in lieu thereof insert the numeral '3. ' "
