stock in such corporations by persons resident in the terri-
tory annexed by this Act to Baltimore city; provided, how
ever, that nothing in this Act shall affect the provisions of
Section 214 of Article 81 of Bagby's Code, as amended by the
Act of 1914, Chapter 411, relating to the taxation of securi-
ties therein named. '"

No. 13—"After the word 'however, ' in line 9 of Section 15
of the printed Bill, insert the following: 'that the Act of 1908,
Chapter 583, shall not apply to the territory annexed by this
Act to Baltimore city; that the special paving tax, levied by
the Act of 1912, Chapter 688, shall not attach to any property
in the territory annexed by this Act to Baltimore city on ac-
count of any improved paving laid before the passage of this
Act, except paving done by the State Roads Commission,
and. '"

No. 14—"Strike out all after the word 'products, ' in line 1. 3
of Section 15, down to and including the word 'Act, ' in line
18 of said Section 15, and in lieu thereof insert the words; or
fertilizer or acid works or soap factories or rendering plants;
or. '"

No. 15—"Strike out all of Section 16, after the word 'enacted, '
in line 1 of Section 16 of the printed Bill, and in lieu thereof
insert the following: 'That no law prohibiting the sale of
liquor in any part of the territory annexed by this Act to
Baltimore city shall be altered, amended or repealed by any
provision of this Act. ' "

No. 16—"Strike out Section 17 and in lieu thereof insert the
following:

'Section 17. And be it further enacted, That any and every
company or corporation which, at the time of the passage of
this Act, shall be actually engaged in the business of supply-
ing water to any of the inhabitants of the territory annexed
by this Act to Baltimore city, shall be entitled to continue
to supply with water such territory as they may be actually
supplying at the time of. the passage of this Act, and such
additional territory as they may be permitted to supply in
pursuance of this section, after the passage of this Act, until
such time as the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore may
extend the Baltimore city water service into such territory,
or any part thereof. Before the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore shall extend the Baltimore city water service into
any territory occupied by any existing water company, the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore shall acquire, either by
purchase or condemnation, the property of such water com-
