States to support the Bill (House of Representatives No. 10, -
277) now pending in Congress to authorize the President to
appoint Col. L. Mervin Maus to the grade of Brigadier General
in the United States Army and place him on the retired list.

WHEREAS, There is now pending in the Congress of the
United States, House Bill No. 10, 277, to authorize the Presi-
dent to appoint Col. L. Mervin Maus to the grade of Brigadier
General in the United States Army and place him on the
retired list;

WHEREAS, Colonel Maus is a native of the State of Mary-
land and was appointed from this State to the medical corps
of the army, and in an active service of forty years therein
has rendered distinguished service as a surgeon and a soldier,
and desires the promotion which the Bill above referred to
purposes to confer upon him; therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Senators and Representatives of this State in the Congress
of the United States be and they are hereby requested to
support and use all honorable means to secure the passage of
said Bill.

[Endorsed: "Read the third time and passed by yeas and
nays"] [Which was read the first time and referred to the
Committee on Federal Relations. ]
