the words 'real property' and before the words 'that may be
appropriated, ' insert the words 'with the consent first obtained
of the Board of Public Works. '"
"On page 7, Section 630, line 5 of the printed Bill, after
the words 'and proper, ' insert a comma, and then the words
'and in case said Board does not establish such a system of
labor before the convening of the General Assembly. of 1918,
then the Board shall report to such General Assembly the re-
sult of the investigation of the subject and any recommenda-
tions which it may deem desirable to make thereon. '"
"On page 15, Section 644, line 21 of the printed Bill, after
the words 'three months, ' at the end of the first paragraph,
insert the following: 'Whenever the State Board of Prison
Control shall determine that prison discipline will be furthered
by transferring from the Maryland House of Correction to
the Maryland Penitentiary or from the Maryland Peni-
tentiary to Maryland House of Correction any person sen-
tenced to either of said institutions for a crime committed
after this Act takes effect and shall issue its warrant to the
wardens of said institution directing such transfer, then the
said sentence of the Court shall operate to authorize such
transfer by virtue hereof. ' "
"On page 16, Section 657, line 1 of the printed Bill, strike
out the words 'forty-five thousand ($45, 000) dollars' and insert
in lieu thereof 'twenty thousand dollars. '"

'for the maintenance of the Maryland Penitentiary and the
Maryland House of Correction. '"
