Whereupon Mr. Speicher moved that the Bill and proposed
amendments be made the special order of the day for Thurs-
day, February 24, 1916, at 4 o'clock P. M. [Which motion
was lost. ]

Whereupon the amendments proposed by the Committee
were read and adopted.

Amendment No. 5 was adopted by yeas and nays as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Allen Chesley Frick Norris Speicher

Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 were adopted by viva voce vote.

The amendments proposed by Mr. Zihlman and printed in
Senate Journal of February 18 were rejected.

Amendments proposed by Mr. Frick: "Strike out the words
'three-fifths, ' in line 26 on page 6 of the printed Bill, and in-
sert in lieu thereof the words 'a majority. '" [Which was
read and adopted. ]

Also, "Strike out from line 29 of page 6 of the printed Bill
the words 'for schools, '" [Which was read and adopted. ]
[Which favorable report was adopted, which was read the
second time and ordered printed for a third reading. ]

At 11. 30 o'clock P. M., on motion of Mr. Cooper, the Senate
went into executive session.

. At 11. 35 o'clock P. M. the Senate resumed legislative busi-
ness.

At 11. 37 o'clock P. M., on motion of Mr. Cooper, the Senate
adjourned until Tuesday, February 22, at 12 o'clock noon.
