and expenses, the sum of twelve thousand dollars to be ex-
pended in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 500 of
the Acts of 1914; to the Public Service Commission for sal-
aries and expenses as provided in Article 23 of the Annotated
Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, as amended, the
sum of ninety-five thousand dollars, out of which sum the
People's Counsel shall be paid additional compensation of
eighteen hundred dollars for his services in connection with
the investigations of the United Railways & Electric Com-
pany, the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company and
the Baltimore County Water and Electric Company, now
pending before the Commission; to the State Board of Health
for the examination and analysis of food and drugs as pro-
vided in Section 175, Article 43 of the Annotated Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, the sum of fifteen thou-
sand dollars; for the support and expenses of the Bureaus of
Communicable Diseases, Bacteriology, Chemistry, Sanitary
Engineering and Vital Statistics, as provided in Sections 24
to 32, inclusive, of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Pub-
lic General Laws of Maryland, the sum of twenty thousand
dollars; for the further expenses of the Bureau of Communi-
cable diseases provided by Chapter 512 of the Acts of 1912,
the sum of ten thousand dollars; for the Pasteur treatment
for hydrophobia and the purchase of diphtheria antitoxin and
other similar serums for the treatment of infectious diseases,
the sum of two thousand dollars; for the better preservation
of the public health by preserving the purity of the waters of
the State and for the supervision and control over water and
ice supplies, sewerage, trade wastes and refuse disposal, as
provided by Chapter 810 of the Acts of 1914, the sum of twen-
ty-five thousand dollars; for the maintenance of the Deputy
State Health Officers in the various sanitary districts of the
State, as provided by Chapter 675 of the Acts of 1914, the sum
of forty thousand dollars; for the salary and expenses of the
Bacteriologist to the State Board of Health, as provided in
Section 67, Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland, three thousand dollars; for the chemi-
cal examination of suspected articles of food and drink as
provided in Section 156 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, two thousand five hun-
dred dollars; for the expense of the State Board of Health as
provided in Section 22 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, two thousand dollars; for
the Registrar of Vital Statistics as provided in Article 43,
Section 21-B, Volume 3 of the Annotated Code of Public Gen-
