commissioners may contribute to the expense of the con-
ference of commissioners from the various States such sum
as they may thing proper, not exceeding two hundred and
fifty dollars; to the State Industrial Accident Commission
for salaries and expenses, as provided by Chapter 800 of the
Acts of 1914, as amended by the Acts of 1916, fifty-five thou-
sand dollars; for the support of insane convicts, as provided
by Chapter 123 of the Acts of 1890, the sum of five thousand
dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary; to the State
Lunacy Commission, for salaries and expenses, forty-five hun-
dred dollars; to the State Bank Commissioner, two thousand
dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary to make up
any deficiency between the cost of running said office and
the fees collected by him in the conduct of his said depart-
ment, as provided by Chapter 805 of the Acts of 1914; to the
Board of State Aid and Charities, for salaries and expenses,
fifty-one hundred dollars; to the Advisory Board of Parole, for
salaries and expenses, the sum of twelve thousand dollars, to
be expended in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 500
of the Acts of 1914; to the Public Service Commission, for sal-
aries and expenses, as provided in Article 23 of the Annotated
Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, as amended, the
sum of ninety-five thousand dollars, out of which sum the
People's Counsel shall be paid additional compensation of
eighteen hundred dollars for his services in connection with
the investigations of the United Railways and Electric Com-
pany, the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company and
the Baltimore County Water and Electric Company, now pend-
ing before the Commission; to the State Board of Health, for
the examination and analysis of food and drugs, as provided,
in Section 175, Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland, the sum of fifteen thousand dollars; for
the support and expenses of the Bureaus of Communicable
Diseases, Bacteriology, Chemistry, Sanitary Engineering and
Vital Statistics, as provided in Sections 24 to 32, inclusive, of
Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland, the sum of 'twenty thousand dollars; for the further
expenses of the Bureau of Communicable Diseases, provided
by Chapter 512 of the Acts of 1912, the sum of ten thousand
dollars; for the Pasteur treatment for hydrophobia and the
purchase of diphtheria antitoxin and other similar serums for
the treatment of infectious diseases, the sum of two thousand
dollars; for the better preservation of the public health by
preserving the purity of the waters of the State and for the
supervision and control over water and ice supplies, sewerage,
