HOUSE BILL No. 337, BY MR. TYDINGS.
SUBJECT: FIRE MARSHAL. ,
Amendment proposed by Mr. Archer: "Strike out all after
the words 'a Bill entitled An Act,7 and in lieu thereof insert the
following: 'To transfer the powers and duties of the State
Fire Marshal to the State Insurance Commissioner; to abol-
ish the State Fire Marshal; to authorize the State Insurance
Commissioner to appoint an additional deputy and clerical as-
sistant, and providing for their compensation; and to this
end to add three new sections to Article 23 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, title 'Corporations,'- sub-title 'Insurance
Department/ the same to follow immediately after Section
178 of said Article, and to be known as Sections 178-A, 178-B
and 178-C.
' Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That three new sections be and the same hereby
are added to Article 23 of the Annotated Code of Maryland,
title 'Corporations,' sub-title" 'Insurance Department,' said
new sections to follow immediately after Section 178 of said
