Mr. Holmead, from Select Committee, reported favorably,
with amendments,

HOUSE BILL No. 26, BY MR. VAN HORN.
SUBJECT: MOUNT RAINIER—PRINCE GEORGE'S
COUNTY.

Amendments proposed by Committee:

No. 5—"In the second line of Section 7 of the printed Bill,
strike out the words 'elected as hereinafter provided, ' and
insert in lien thereof the words 'appointed by a majority vote
of the Mayor and Common Council at their first regular meet-
ing on the second Monday in May in each and every year. '
At the end of Section 7, insert the following: 'in case of a
vacancy occurring in the office of Town Clerk and Treasurer
the Mayor and Common Council shall have power to fill such
vacancy. ' " [Which was read and adopted. ]

No. 6—"In Section 9 of the printed Bill, strike out the
sixth paragraph, being lines 34 to 39, both inclusive, and the
words 'or for Town Clerk and Treasurer, ' in line 42 and the
words 'or Town Clerk and Treasurer, ' in lines 44 and 45, and
the words 'or of Town Clerk and Treasurer, ' in lines 56 and
57. " [Which was read and adopted. ]

No. 7—"In Section 12 of the printed Bill, strike out the
words 'and of all candidates for Town Clerk and Treasurer, ' in line 70. "

'Strike out the last part of the official ballot as follows:
For Town Clerk and Treasurer, Vote for One Only.
