(House Bill 106)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Section 139 of
Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title
"Governor—Executive and Administrative Departments", sub-title
"Superintendent of Buildings", increasing the amount of RE-
LATING TO the State's annual appropriation to the City of
Annapolis for the collection of garbage, ashes and trash from
State buildings and for other services rendered to the State by
the City of Annapolis.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 139 of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Governor—Executive and Administrative De-
partments", sub-title "Superintendent of Buildings", be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted with amendments to read as follows:
139. The State shall annually appropriate and pay to the mayor,
counselor and aldermen of the City of Annapolis the sum of [$2,000]
$5,625, as payment for the collection of garbage, ashes and trash from
State buildings and for other services rendered to the State by the
City of Annapolis, and the Governor shall provide for such appropria-
tion in his budget for [1942 1943] fiscal 1962 and thereafter.
COUNSELOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF ANNAPOLIS
A SUM OF MONEY AS FROM TIME TO TIME MAY BE PRO-
VIDED IN THE STATE BUDGET AS PAYMENT FOR THE
COLLECTION OF GARBAGE, ASHES, AND TRASH FROM
STATE BUILDINGS AND FOR OTHER SERVICES RENDERED
TO THE STATE BY THE CITY OF ANNAPOLIS.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 107
(House Bill 128)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 3 (5) of
Article 73B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1960 Supple-
ment), title "Pensions", sub-title "In General", to provide that
certain officials elected or appointed for fixed terms may become
members of the Employees' Retirement System of the State of
Maryland upon making application therefor at any time after their
election or appointment AND BEFORE THE EXPIRATION OF
THEIR RESPECTIVE TERMS.
