AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 54 of Chap-
ter 780 of the Acts of 1959, this Act having enacted the sub-title
"Park and Planning Commission", having added this sub-title to
the Montgomery County Code (1955 Edition), being Article 16
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland and having also
added this sub-title to the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County (1953 Edition), being Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, said Section 54 being in the sub-
heading "Metropolitan District", providing that the governing
bodies of Montgomery and Prince George's Counties may convey
or lease county property to the Maryland National Capital Park and
Planning Commission or may enter into contracts or agreements
with the Commission for use, development and maintenance of
county property.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 54 of Chapter 780 of the Acts of 1959, this Act having
enacted the sub-title "Park and Planning Commission", haying added
this sub-title to the Montgomery County Code (1955 Edition), being
Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland and having
also added this sub-title to the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County (1953 Edition), being Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, said Section 54 being in the sub-
heading "Metropolitan District", be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:
54.
Montgomery and Prince George's Counties are authorized from
time to time to grant monies to the Commission, upon the request
of the Commission, for any of the purposes of this sub-title. A grant
of monies under this Section shall be expended within the county
making the grant. Any such grant is not to exceed annually in
Prince George's County an amount equal to one-half of the County's
share of the State Income Tax. Any such grant by Montgomery
County is not to exceed annually an amount equal to one-half of
that County's share of the State Income Tax plus one-half the profits
of the County Dispensary as turned over to the County Treasurer.
Further, the governing bodies of the respective counties are au-
thorized at their discretion to convey, lease, or to enter into contracts
or agreements with the Commission for use, development and mainten-
ance by the Commission of County property for the purposes of this
sub-title.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.
