in compliance with the Commission's requirements and with due re-
gard to public health, safety and comfort.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 610
(House Bill 302)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 5 of
Chapter 122 of the Laws of Maryland of 1918, as amended, said
section being also Section 1565 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Prince George's County (1953 Edition) and Section 74-30 of
the Montgomery County Code (1955 Edition), being respectively,
Articles 17 and 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
titles "Prince George's County" and "Montgomery County", sub-
title "Washington Suburban Sanitary District", relating generally
to the Washington Suburban Sanitary District; providing for the
issuance of bonds of the District; and authorizing the County
Council of Montgomery County or the Board of County Commis-
sioners of Prince George's County to audit and examine the books
of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 5 of Chapter 122 of the Laws of Maryland of 1918, as
amended, said section being also Section 1565 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Prince George's County (1953 Edition) and Section
74-30 of the Montgomery County Code (1955 Edition), being, re-
spectively, Articles 17 and 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, titles "Prince George's County" and "Montgomery
County", sub-title "Washington Suburban Sanitary District", be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read
as follows:

5 (1565) (74-30). (a) For the purpose of providing funds for
the design, construction, reconstruction, establishment, extension,
enlargement, purchase or condemnation of the water, sewerage and
drainage systems in the Sanitary District, or in any other areas
where extension of any of the aforementioned systems may be au-
thorized by law, or for the construction, remodelling, enlargement
or replacement of any office or operating building or buildings re-
quired for the administration or operation of any of said systems,
including the acquisition of land or equipment,
said Commission is
authorized and empowered to issue bonds of the Sanitary District,
from time to time, in such amounts as it may deem necessary to
