CHAPTER 541
(House Bill 595)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 9-1 of
the Frederick County Code, 1959 (being Article 11 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Frederick County",
sub-title "Chapter 9—Fire Protection", to authorize an annual
appropriation for the Union Bridge Fire Company in Frederick
County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 9-1 of the Frederick County Code, 1959 (being Article
11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Frederick
County", sub-title "Chapter 9—Fire Protection", be and it is here-
by repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

9-1. The county commissioners are authorized and directed to
levy on the assessable property of the county for the year 1959 and
annually thereafter the sum of [thirty-three thousand and six hun-
dred dollars] thirty-four thousand one hundred dollars. From such
sum, there shall be paid, on or before the first day of July, 1959, and
annually thereafter on or before the first day of January in each
year:

(a)    Two thousand, one hundred and fifty dollars to the treasurer
of the Independent Hose Company of Frederick.

(b)    Two thousand, one hundred and fifty dollars to the treasurer
of the Junior Steam Fire Engine Company of Frederick.

(c)    Two thousand, one hundred and fifty dollars to the treasurer
of the United Steam Fire Engine Company of Frederick.

(d)    Two thousand, one hundred and fifty dollars to the treasurer
of the Brunswick Volunteer Fire Company of Brunswick.

(e)    Two thousand, one hundred and fifty dollars to the treasurer
of the Vigilant Hose Company of Emmitsburg.

(f)    Two thousand and fifty dollars to the treasurer of the
Guardian Hose Company of Thurmont.

(g)    Two thousand and fifty dollars to the treasurer of the Middle-
town Volunteer Fire Company.

(h) Two thousand and fifty dollars to the treasurer of the Walk-
ersville Volunteer Fire Company.

(i) Five Hundred dollars to the treasurer of the Mount Airy
Fire Company.

(j) One thousand, eight hundred and fifty dollars to the treasurer
of the Braddock Heights Volunteer Fire Company of Braddock
Heights.

(k) One thousand, eight hundred dollars to the treasurer of the
New Midway Fire Company of New Midway.

(1) Two thousand and fifty dollars to the treasurer of the Myers-
ville Volunteer Fire Company of Myersville.

(m) Five hundred dollars to the treasurer of the Blue Ridge
Summit Fire Company.
