Measurement in the case of each fish shall be from the the tip of the
nose to the end of the caudal fin or tail.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

(House Bill 409)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 115 (c),
148, 179, 199, 217 and 230 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Natural Resources," sub-title
"Birds, Game and Inland Water Fish," sub-headings respectively
"Commission", "Field Trials", "Raccoon, Opossum and Skunks",
"Penalty", "Game and Fresh Water Fish—Regulations for Taking
in Nontidal Waters," and "Penalties, Repeal and Severability," to
increase the penalties for certain violations of the bird, game and
fresh water fish laws, and to provide for suspension of licenses
for conviction of violations of certain regulations of the Game and
Inland Fish Commission.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 115 (c), 148, 179, 199, 217 and 230 of Article 66C of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Natural Re-
sources," sub-title "Birds, Game and Inland Water Fish," sub-head-
ings respectively "Commission," "Field Trials," "Raccoon, Opossum
and Skunks," "Penalty," "Game and Fresh Water Fish—Regulations
for Taking in Nontidal Waters," and "Penalties, Repeal and Sever-
ability," be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
115.
(c) It shall be a misdemeanor to violate such regulation adopted
by the Commission or any part thereof, and any person so convicted
of such violation shall be fined not less than [ten dollars ($10.00)]
twenty-five dollars ($25.00) nor more than [fifty dollars ($50.00)]
one hundred dollars ($100.00) and may be sentenced to thirty (30)
days in jail, either, or both, in the discretion of the court or justice
of the peace before whom said person shall be tried, and in addition
to said fine, shall be fined five dollars ($5.00) for each and every wild
bird, wild animal, or fish illegally killed or found in possession. A
second conviction within the same twelve month period for a viola-
tion of any regulation adopted by the Commission shall result in sus-
pension of the violator's license for a period of twelve months from
the date of such conviction. A copy of any regulations adopted by
the Commission shall be mailed to the clerk of the circuit court who
