PEOPLE'S COURT, PROVIDED THAT THE DOCKET ENTRIES
INDICATE THE MAGISTRATE WHO HEARD THE CASE AND
THE ACTION TAKEN BY SUCH MAGISTRATE.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 427
(Senate Bill 506)
AN ACT to direct the Board of County Commissioners of Allegany
County to engage competent professional engineering services to
prepare a preliminary survey and report of a project for a water
transmission main extending from Savage River Dam to a reser-
voir in the City of Cumberland together with a water filtration
and/or a water chlorination plant and including certain necessary
appurtenances; authorizing the said Board of County Commis-
sioners to borrow an amount not to exceed $300,000.00 and to
issue bonds therefor for the purpose of providing plans and speci-
fications for such project and for engaging complete supervision
of its construction including service for project location and right-
of-way acquisition and construction; providing that in lieu of
issuing part or all of said bonds the County Commissioners may
accept funds from any governmental unit or agency of the United
States, for the purposes of this project; and relating generally to
the said project for a water transmission main, a water filtration
and/or water chlorination plant, and such necessary appurte-
nances thereto.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the County Commissioners of Allegany County, a body cor-
porate, are directed to engage competent professional engineering
services at a fee not to exceed the sum of $25,000.00 to prepare a
preliminary survey and report of the project more fully described
in Section 3 of this Act together with estimates of cost details of
contracting and plans and specifications therefor.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the County Commis-
sioners of Allegany County, a body corporate, in order to provide
funds for engaging complete supervision of its construction includ-
ing field service for project location and right-of-way acquisition and
construction, are authorized to borrow from time to time in such
amounts as they shall deem necessary, money on the faith and credit
of said county, and to issue therefor bonds, provided that in the
