(o) The term "postgraduate school of beauty culture" is defined
as any premises, building, or part of a building wherein instruction
is given in hair-styling, hairdressing or beauty culture to licensed
operators, manager,
MANAGERS, teachers and/or other persons
licensed by the Board for tuition or a fee.

530.

After August 1st, 1935:

(a)   It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to
practice or teach beauty culture, or manage a beauty shop, or to use
or maintain any place for the practice or teaching of beauty culture
or to demonstrate on any person beauty preparations or equipment
for compensation unless he, she, or it shall have first obtained from
the Board a certificate of registration as provided in this sub-title.

(b)  Students and apprentices must also obtain certificates of regis-
tration before enrollment in any school of beauty culture or beginning
their apprenticeship.

(c)  Every owner of a beauty shop must apply for and secure from
the Board a certificate of registration on an application to be fur-
nished by the Board, which application shall contain the name of
the senior manager of said shop, said certificate to be known as
"owner's certificate" for which no examination shall be required. In
the event of a change of the manager of said shop it shall be the duty
of said owner to so notify the Board promptly in writing; provided,
however, that in the event the owner of said shop shall also be a
licensed manager, the owner's certificate shall not be required.

(d)  Every owner of a school of beauty culture or a post-graduate
school of beauty culture must apply for and secure from the Board a
Certificate of Registration on an application to be furnished by the
Board, which application shall contain the name of said school; said
certificate to be known as a school license for which no examination
shall be required. In the event of a change of the owner of said
school, it shall be the duty of the new owner to so notify the Board
promptly in writing.

532.

(a)  No person shall be permitted by the Board to take an examina-
tion to receive a certificate as an operator unless such person shall
be at least [sixteen] seventeen years of age, have an eighth grade
education, or its equivalent, and has been registered as a student and
has had training, as hereinafter provided in this sub-title, in a
beauty school duly registered by the Board of at least 1,500 hours
training, or serve as an apprentice in an approved beauty shop for
a period of not less than two years; provided, however, that the
Board may permit a person to take an examination without the
prior studentship herein required if such person shall establish,
to the satisfaction of the Board, that he or she has been an operator
in the active practice of beauty culture for at least twenty-four
months within the five years next preceding June 1, 1947.

(b)  No person shall be permitted to take an examination to act
as a demonstrator who shall not have had all the qualifications
necessary to become an operator.
