has been expended from income or from any other moneys in the
Treasury TREASURY of the corporation not secured by or obtained
from or reimbursed by the issue of stocks, bonds, notes or other evi-
dences of indebtedness of such corporation for one or more of the
purposes enumerated in items (I) (i) through (III) (iii) of this sub-
section.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 529, 530,
532, 533, 535, 536, 537, 538, 540, 542, 548, and 550 of Article 43
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Health",
sub-title "Hairdressers and Beauty Culturists", CHANGING THE
SAID SUB-TITLE TO BE "COSMETOLOGISTS" AND PROVID-
ING GENERALLY THAT WHEREVER IN THE LAWS, BOOKS
AND ACCOUNTS OF THIS STATE THE TERM "HAIRDRESS-
ERS AND BEAUTY CULTURISTS" OR EITHER OF SAID
TERMS APPEARS IT SHALL HEREAFTER BE TAKEN TO
BE "COSMETOLOGISTS", revising the laws relating to hair-
dressers and beauty culturists, relating generally to the regulation
of the occupation of hairdressers and beauty culturists, amend-
ing the laws with respect to the examination, registration and
practice of these occupations and of the teaching of beauty cul-
turists, revising powers, duties and functions of the State Board
of Hairdressers and Beauty Culturists and relating generally to
the practice of the occupation of hairdressers and beauty culturists
in this State.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 529, 530, 532, 533, 535, 536, 537, 538, 540, 542, 548,
and 550 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957
Edition), title "Health", sub-title "Hairdressers and Beauty Cultur-
ists", be and they are hereby repealed, and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, CHANGING SAID SUB-TITLE TO BE "COSMETOLO-
GISTS", to read as follows:
529.
For the purpose of this sub-title, the following words or phrases,
unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, shall have the meaning
ascribed to them in this section:
(a) The term "beauty culture" includes any and all work done
for compensation by any person, which work is generally and us-
ually performed by so-called hairdressers, cosmetologists, cosmeti-
cians, beauticians or beauty culturists and demonstrators of beauty
preparations or equipment, and however denominated in so-called
hairdressing and beauty shops ordinarily patronized by women, which
work is for the embellishment, cleanliness and beautification of worn-
