AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 3 (x) of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title
"Elections", sub-title "Supervisors of Elections and Employees",
and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 5 (g) of said
Article and sub-title (1960 Supplement), increasing the compen-
sation of the members of the Board of Supervisors of Elections of
Wicomico County and of the several clerks, attorneys and assistants
to the Board.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 3 (x) of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Elections", sub-title "Supervisors of Elections
and Employees", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, and Section 5 (g) of said Article and sub-title (1960
Supplement), be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, and all to read as follows:

(x) Wicomico County: [$600.] $700.

(g) In Wicomico County the clerk of the Board of Supervisors of
Elections provided for in this article shall receive an annual salary
of [$600.00] $700.00. There also shall be a position of assistant
clerk to the Board in Wicomico County with an annual salary of
[$300.00] $400.00. The Supervisors of Elections shall have the
power to employ an attorney, who shall be a member of the bar of
Wicomico County and who shall also be the attorney for the judges
of elections, and such attorney shall receive an annual salary of
[$600] $700; the salaries of said clerks and said attorney to be paid
in equal quarterly installments by the County Commissioners of
Wicomico County; provided, however, that in the event of special
elections or special services rendered the said County Commissioners
shall, at the request and recommendation of the Supervisors of
Elections, allow such additional compensation as they may deem
commensurate with such special services rendered.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.
