Whereas, For purposes of clarity and certainty it is desirable to
repeal Section 2 of the Act of 1935; now, therefore,

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 2 of Chapter 287 of the Acts of 1935, be and it is hereby
repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

Approved February 27, 1961.

CHAPTER 25

(Senate Bill 38)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 162 and
171 of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition) title "Dorchester County", sub-title "County Com-
missioners and Treasurer", sub-heading "Treasurer", Section 171
thereof having been amended by Chapter 42 of the Acts of the
Special Session of 1936; and to repeal Sections 174, 176, 177 and
179 of said Article, sub-title and sub-heading, Section 176 thereof
having been amended by Chapter 670 of the Acts of 1949, amend-
ing and revising the local laws of Dorchester County with respect
to tax sales of property, and with respect to the duties of the
Treasurer and other officials in relation to such tax sales, in order
generally to make the local tax sale laws of Dorchester County
conform to the present statewide tax sale laws; and repealing an
obsolete provision concerning the former tax on mortgages.

Whereas, In a number of sections of the local laws of Dorchester
County there are provisions concerning the procedure for making
tax sales and defining the powers and duties of the Treasurer and
other local officials in relation thereto; and

Whereas, Many of these provisions are now obsolete by reason of
the inclusion of Dorchester County into the statewide tax sale law;
and

Whereas, These outmoded provisions in the local laws should be
removed in order that the local laws may be clear and correct; now,
therefore,

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 162 and 171 of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Dorchester County", sub-
title "County Commissioners and Treasurer", sub-heading "Treas-
urer", Section 171 thereof having been amended by Chapter 42 of the
Acts of the Special Session of 1936, be and they are hereby repealed
