CHAPTER 176
(House Bill 237)

AN ACT to add new Section 22A to Article 36 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Fees of Officers", sub-title
"Justices of the Peace", to follow immediately after Section 22
thereof, to require the payment of certain costs before any suit
or case may be filed with any justice of the peace designated as a
trial magistrate in Garrett County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 22A be and it is hereby added to Article 36 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Fees of Officers",
sub-title "Justices of the Peace", to follow immediately after Section
22 thereof, and to read as follows:

22A. In Garrett County, no suit or action shall be filed with any
justice of the peace designated as a trial magistrate until the fees
allowed in Section 20 have been paid to the justice of the peace.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

Approved March 23, 1961.

CHAPTER 177
(House Bill 313)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 43, (c)
of Article 73B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Pensions", sub-title "Social Security Benefits", amending the
law relating to the membership of certain public employees in the
Social Security System, with particular respect to the certification
of referenda thereon.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
