167G.

The provisions of this sub-title shall not apply to public or court
officers, or to any other person or persons acting under the license,
direction, or authority of any court, local or Federal, selling goods,
wares, or merchandise in the course of their official duties.

167H.

Upon complaint of any person, the Circuit Court for Washington
County shall have jurisdiction in equity to restrain and enjoin any
act forbidden or declared illegal by any provisions of this sub-title.

167-I.

The County Commissioners for Washington County are authorized
to promulgate ordinances or regulations to carry out the purposes
of this sub-title including, without limitation, regulations limiting
the period of time a closing-out sale or a sale of goods, wares, or
merchandise damaged by fire, smoke, water, or otherwise may be
conducted, subject to extension as authorized by Section 167E. No
such regulation shall be put in effect until after a public hearing has
been held thereon.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

(House Bill 944)

AN ACT to add new Sections 148A to 148K, inclusive SECTION
148A to the Code of Public Local Laws of Washington County
(1957 Edition, being Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland), title "Washington County", to follow immediately
after Section 148 thereof, and to be under the new sub-title "Charit-
able Solicitations", to provide for licensing and regulation of per-
sons or groups conducting solicitations for charity in Washington
County, and to provide penalties for violations.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 148A to 148K, inclusive SECTION 148A be and
they are BE AND IT IS hereby added to the Code of Public Local
Laws of Washington County, (1957 Edition, being Article 22 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Washington County",
to follow immediately after Section 148 thereof, and to read as
follows:
