Whereas, Through inadvertency this section was not included in
the 1959 Edition of the Code of Public Local Laws of Wicomico
County; and

Whereas, While there is no doubt of the continued effectiveness of
the Act of 1955, it nevertheless is desirable to add it specifically to
the 1959 Code, at the same time making a desired amendment to the
original Act; now therefore

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 23A of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-title "Coun-
ty Commissioners", as said section was enacted by Chapter 156 of
the Acts of 1955, be and it is hereby repealed, and that a new Section
19A be and it is hereby added to the Code of Public Local Laws of
Wicomico County (1959 Edition, being Article 23 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Wicomico County", sub-title
"County Commissioners", to follow immediately after Section 19
thereof, to read as follows:

19A. Each County Commissioner shall receive certain allow-
ances
, to be determined by the Board of County Commissioners, for
traveling and any other necessary expenses incurred in the exercise
of his official duties as a member of the Board of County Commis-
sioners. The total amount received by the County Commissioners as
a group, for such travel and any other expenses, shall not exceed
$1,000.00 per annum.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

(Senate Bill 276)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 227 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Wicomico County (1959 Edi-
tion) , being Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Wicomico County", sub-title "Revenue and Taxes",
sub-heading "County Treasurer", amending the local laws of
Wicomico County to provide for the appointment by the County
Commissioners of an administrative director, and relating gen-
erally to the appointment, tenure, powers, duties and functions of
the administrative director of Wicomico County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 227 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Wicomico
County (1959 Edition), being Article 23 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Wicomico County", sub-title "Revenue and
Taxes", sub-heading "County Treasurer", be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

227. (A) The County Commissioners of Wicomico County are
hereby authorized and empowered to appoint [a Secretary] an ad-
